About the Author

Dr. Monique Johnson, PT, DPT

I am a physical therapist with over 3 decades of experience working with adults, helping them navigate the challenges of aging, illness, and recovery. I am passionate about helping others to maintain independence, embrace mobility, and thrive in the comfort of the home they cherish. Afterall, “home is where the heart is.”  My work often involves evaluating whether it is safe for someone to return home after rehabilitation or illness and determining what modifications may be needed to ensure their safety and independence.

Over the years, I’ve conducted countless home safety evaluations and guided families through life-altering changes. My heart’s work is helping individuals to maintain mobility while creating safe, supportive environments that allow them to age gracefully in the place they love most—their home. Through this book, I share the same insights and strategies I’ve used in practice to inspire, educate, and empower others to thrive.
